Alice Ponti

Partner, Consumer Goods

Alice has spent twenty years on the client side of the table, deciding which brands get funded and which get stopped. She focuses on building and scaling Vivaldi's Consumer Goods practice from New York.

Alice specializes in growth and portfolio strategy, innovation systems, and capital allocation for consumer goods, with a particular focus on food, beverage, and beauty. She works from the perspective of someone who has sat in the seat: she knows what it costs a marketing leader to walk into a growth board without the numbers, and what it costs a company to spend years of capital against demand that has already moved. She also brings a practical fluency in AI, having spent recent years helping Fortune 500 companies move from AI ambition to AI that changes a commercial decision.

At Vivaldi, Alice is focused on building and scaling the firm’s Consumer Goods practice from the New York office. She leads senior client relationships and works closely with colleagues across the firm on the Demand and Economic Profit Loop, the methodology that traces every dollar a company deploys, from cash invested to economic profit created or destroyed, and connects it directly to shifting consumer demand. Alice’s contribution is to make that thinking land in the room, giving CMOs, CFOs, and GMs a shared, clear fact base for the choices that matter most: where to double down, where to fix, and where to stop.

Before Vivaldi, Alice spent over twenty years at AB InBev, SABMiller, Diageo, and Danone, building the governance models, innovation playbooks, and operating systems that deliver commercial results at scale. She owned the P&L, governed the innovation pipeline, and made the hard capital calls across a $3.4B global portfolio, which included leading a $900M innovation pipeline as VP of Innovation at AB InBev. She held GM-level P&L accountability for a thirteen-market European category and launched innovations that became the number one US beer innovation two years running. Her instinct has consistently been to get there early: a low-ABV vodka spritz in 2014, four years before hard seltzer existed as a category, and a global non-alcohol beer strategy presented to AB InBev’s CEO in 2019, built on six months with Gen Z consumers and a financial case for a behavioral shift the industry was not yet tracking.

Most recently, Alice advised Fortune 500 consumer companies on AI adoption across household and personal care, confectionery, energy drinks, beauty, and biotech. She made the case, in early 2025, that brand visibility inside large language models would become one of the most important commercial capabilities a company could build, and has since helped more than forty organizations move from disconnected AI pilots to embedded operating change.

Alice holds a Master’s in Marketing and Market Research from Sciences Po Paris. She is an Aspen First Movers Fellow and a member of Chief.

Alice is Italian and Malagasy, born in Mauritius, raised in the south of France, and educated in Paris. She spent ten years in London before moving to New York, where she now lives. She works in English and French, and is doing her best with German.
