Miguel Maal

Senior Partner

Trained as a chemical engineer in Brazil and fluent in five languages, Miguel brings a global perspective to strategy and finance, with experience spanning industries from telecommunications to consumer goods, retail, and travel and leisure.

Miguel helps leadership teams and boards develop corporate finance–based strategies that directly connect capital deployment choices to expected share price outcomes. This approach brings both the lens of the investor and the lens of the board, helping companies navigate the tensions among internal and external stakeholders. It supports winning companies in extending their leadership by identifying new directions of profitable growth, and helps companies under pressure to rapidly establish a credible path to improved share price trajectories.

He is grounded in economics and valuation, honed over 25 years of client work in more than 20 countries and 350 projects. Based in New York City since 2008, Miguel has held senior leadership roles across leading consulting firms, where he launched offices, built industry practices, and advised global clients on top of the house strategy. His methods are tested and disciplined, bringing clarity to the linkages between financial performance, competitive positioning, and market expectations, and giving executives practical confidence in high-stakes decision making on M&A, capital allocation, and growth strategy.

With Vivaldi, this approach is extended to the causal linkages between choices in brand strategy and share price trajectory outcomes.

Miguel is also Founder and Chairman of PivotXY, a platform that gathers relevant signals from the overwhelming sea of data and delivers clarity on what top-level decisions are creating shareholder value and why. It simulates the impacts of shifting strategies and M&A in real time, enabling the shareholder’s perspective in every strategic discussion and supporting an iterative, evidence-based approach to decision-making.
