Is Netflix Nearing Its Peak in the Streaming Wars?

The profit from the Marketplace is subsidizing the losses in Amazon Retail business where it happily undercuts competitors with its own brands. In the same vein, Netflix needs to open up its platform to third-party content providers, game developers and additional services. – Erich Joachimsthaler, Founder and CEO of Vivaldi

Featured in two New York Observer articles on Netflix’s current stage in the streaming industry, Vivaldi Founder and CEO Erich Joachimsthaler shared insights into how Netflix should proceed in a crowded market. He suggests that Netflix should look to Amazon for inspiration and start offering a more diverse array of selections.  He also points out that Netflix is constantly trying to win with new original content. However, the company can save cost by incorporating third parties onto its platform, while still attracting new subscribers.

Is Netflix reaching its peak in the midst of all this competition, or does the streaming pioneer have more to offer?
